Background on the documentary:
In 1998, World T.E.A.M. Sports (The Exceptional Athlete Matters) organized a 16-day, 1,200 mile bicycle ride through once war-torn Vietnam . Able-bodied and disabled veterans, from the U.S. and Vietnam , travel across a landscape where they once killed to stay alive. The former enemies ride as one team, joined by well-known rider Greg LaMonde and Senator John Kerry, in an emotional journey of peace, reconciliation, and athletic achievement. The biggest handicaps turn out to be the ghosts of the past, with their nagging reminders of conflict, injury and loss. Narrated by Actor and Chicago Native Joe Mantegna

ABD's BIG '08 News Party & Voler Try-On: 11/3/07

Attention ABD'ers!
Mark Your Calendars for Saturday, November 3rd. We're holding an ABD soiree starting at 5pm at the Prairie Path Cycles-Batavia store!

What's behind Curtain #1?
The 2008 Voler Clothing Try-On
Voler has an all new material for their bibs, and Larry Lorenz is bringing all his samples to try out. We'll start taking orders at the party with a final due date a couple of weeks later. The design is getting an update for '08, but will use the same colors to maintain retro-compatibility (...unless you're sporting the super-retro ABD gear, but then you're not really concerned with style!)

Curtain #2?
ABD's New Athlete Programs
What's that? ...even more Farrell sightings? ...ABD Coaching? ...Tactical "Happy Hours"? ...a "Traveling" 3's team? ... the ABD Cycling College 2.0? Oh my, you better not miss this!

Curtain #3?
ABD "Event Crews"
There are a lot of you out there that are chomping at the bit to share your ideas and become more involved with running ABD events. We know that your ownership and great ideas will make our events even better- so here's your chance! We'll have an overview of the 2008 events, dates, and different roles available within the event crews.
(Thanks to Ligocki for the great idea!)

A Curtain 4 too?
The 2008 ABD Elite Team
Who could it be???

Ohmigosh, and a Curtain 5!
2008 ABD Club member BIKE DEALS
El Presidente will announce all the models and prices!

We will have hor's douvres and beverages, so please RSVP for the November 3rd meeting by sending us an e-mail.
The November 3rd ABD meeting is also a great opportunity for anyone interested in ABD to get an idea of what we're all about.
