A quick update on the skiing conditions nearby:
For those of you who have their own skiing equipment, most of the DuPage FP locations (Herrick Lake, Blackwell, Mallard Lake) are fair to good. There is no track set, and you may have to deal with walkers/dogs/etc. I would suggest Mallard Lake as it is one of the locations that has low foot traffic.
Also Deer Grove FP is in good condition and getting better.
Arrowhead is still closed at this time.
For those of you willing to drive a bit and challenge yourself, the trails in the So. Kettle (Nordic and McMiller) are very good to excellent. You can rent skis at a few places, Bicycle Doctor and the Lagrange General Store to name a few.
